Come away awhile and, like Elijah, let the storm, the earthquake, and the fire pass by. In the quiet beauty of the Visitation monastery, rest and reverently listen for the loving voice of the One who created and cares for you through spiritual direction.
Join us for extended-day individually directed silent retreats from June 24 - 28, 2026. Enter into silence and meet daily with your assigned spiritual director for 30-45 minutes to deepen your experience. You can sign up for 1-4 nights.
Hosted by the Ignatian Spirituality Center (ISC) at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. Spiritual direction will be provided by experienced affiliated Spiritual Directors, graduates of Spring Hill College. Mary is scheduled to serve as an onsite spiritual director for this retreat, incorporating elements of Ignatian Spirituality and Enneagram coaching to enhance your personal journey.
In Sept 2025 and March 2026, Mary had the privilege of serving as a spiritual director at this retreat led by the Ignatian Spirituality Center of Mobile, AL, at the Visitation Convent. She experienced the nuns singing at daily 7:00 am Mass. Lovely "food angels" brought healthy, tasty homecooked meals three times a day to serve to retreatants in the dining room.
If you would like more info about Spiritual Direction or the retreat, please contact Mary using the contact form on this website.
An additional retreat is being discussed for November 2026.

Ignatius House Virtual Spiritual Direction Inquiry Session
Join us Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 7-8 pm for a Virtual Spiritual Direction Inquiry Session. You'll get a chance to learn more about the ministry of spiritual direction and meet several of our Ignatian-trained spiritual directors. Register on the Ignatius House website.

Be sure to check the Ignatius House calendar online. Occasionally the Friday Mass is not open to the public.

Sign up for our Wednesday prayer email. Or simply add it to your podcast list on most platforms. Each week, Ignatius House brings you scripture to pray with and a video commentary by the Jesuits and spiritual directors. Together, we’ll breathe life into God’s Word, drawing from the Ignatian tradition of contemplative prayer, which is simply “a long, loving look at the real.” You’ll discover that “real” to be God breaking into our reality, gazing upon us with love. Scripture selections reflect timely themes or liturgical seasons with a prayer format that is distinctly Ignatian.
